Rеvеrѕе buсkеt list (tooting my own horn)
Since 2020 starts tomorrow and we start to make our big audacious goals for the new year, I figured I would reflect on all of the amazing and wonderful things I have done or already accomplished.
Graduate college
I graduated with a Bachelors of Science with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Fashion Design from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln (GBR) in only 4 years plus a summer! It is nearly impossible to do it in 4 years and that is okay.
Get married to a pretty neat guy
It was always in my mind that I would get married. You start picturing the perfect person, but somehow they never seem just right. Well, turns out I met my future hubby when we were awkward (very awkward) high school freshman. Little did I know, we would reconnect and fall in love.
Make a positive difference (this one is something, I strive for every day)
So I was actively involved in clubs and organizations in college. Undergraduate Women in Business, National Residence Hall Honorary, Residence Hall Association, and some intramural sports mixed into my free time. One of my biggest achievements happened when I was a senior in college serving as the President of the RHA (student government for the residence halls). I was able to research and create a proposal that I presented to the Director of Housing requesting that future RHA presidents receive compensation for their time in the role. The Director of Housing took my request seriously and up to her boss for approval. I was so excited because I was met with feedback that it wouldn’t even make it that far!
Be recognized for my hard work
Back to my college days, I also served in the corporate office for the national student residence hall (NACURH). In this role, I worked closely with another girl in our office to create a system that would help affiliate colleges and universities into NACURH. We spent a lot of days and nights working on ensuring that everyone was able to affiliate and even received an award!
Buy my own car
People always say don’t buy a new car right after you graduate, well I didn’t listen. Thankfully I had help from my parents and was able to get a really great deal on Elsie 2.0. She (yes, she) even has automatic start.
The last 25 years have been filled with failures, successes, and adventure. I am at awe in all of the things I have experienced.
2020 is the start of a brand new year, which means 365 new opportunities to add to my accomplishments. What is something that you have finished that you are proud of?
